Description:
Be part of it with i-to-i!
Our goal is to achieve 400yrs of combined volunteering all over the world by the end of 2008.
So far we have achieved 325yrs which when broken down means we achieved the following:
- Over 5500 children cared for on our community projects around the world
- A minimum of 13,000 children and adults taught English in schools and community centres
- Hundreds of animals protected including Turtles, Pandas, Elephants, Monkeys and more
- At least 80 homes and structures built for families and communities in need
- More than 8000 trees planted which are enough trees to offset the CO2 emissions of over 2,000 cars
Need to get some colour in your life?
If the bright colours don't overwhelm you when you land in Brazil then the even brighter smiles of the children certainly will. This is definitely not a country for anyone who likes the quiet life, with action at every turn! There's certainly plenty on offer on this project which uses a heady mix of dance, theatre and music to support the city's vulnerable children. Working with youngsters from a number of favelas (urban slums) your efforts will play a valuable part in helping the children on a project desperately short of resources, while allowing you to soak up the rich vibes of a pulsating city. Don't forget of course, our TEFL certification is included to make sure you're fully prepared.

"Everything! My time in Rio de Janeiro was so rich and colourful, so much happened both on the project and in life outside the project that it's almost impossible to single out my experiences. An absolutely incredible city, full of contrasts and with very warm, welcoming people, always ready for a laugh." (Sally Mitchell)
