Description: Volunteer in New Zealand with a conservation program.

We provide information about the protection of New Zealand's natural and historic heritage, how and where you can enjoy public conservation places and how to get involved in conservation.

The position is in the mountains of the Tongariro National Park. Based in a hut, we provide information source; assist hikers; we do minor hut and track maintenance; we contact for Search and Rescue; we take charge of hut and environs cleanliness and hut/camp pass duties. We have conservation projects at each hut. Normally, volunteers spend 5 days in the mountains and 2 days out. Accommodation and food allowance are included. Periods range from 8 to 12 weeks from October to end of April.
