Lifeworks British Virgin Islands
  Caribbean

Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Various Length Programs June to August

Description: If you are considering volunteering abroad and are looking for a summer program that focuses on community service and volunteer work while incorporating international travel, outdoor education, language and cultural immersion, then join the lifeworks team this summer and help make a difference during one of our community service projects for kids.

Lifeworks offers a broad range of international youth community service summer programs. We work with the British Virgin Islands Marine Parks, Galapagos National Parks, the Duang Prateep Foundation in Thailand, the Australian Red Cross and the Fundacion Humanitaria in Costa Rica. The community service projects that we undertake with these organizations are very real and very needed. They range from human to environmental based, and most of our programs incorporate a combination of the two. This, in turn, leads to a rewarding experience for all involved. Each location offers something unique, both in the community service projects that we undertake as well as in the cultures within which we become immersed. All of our programs are co-ed and, with 30 years of experience running teen adventure travel programs, over 100 students volunteer every year.

Distinctive to Lifeworks is that, when our time is up, we are able to offer financial help with a direct donation to the service organizations with which we have worked. This helps fund these and other projects in an ongoing way. Additionally, all participants enroll in the President's Volunteer Service Award program -- an official presidential recognition system originated by President George Bush, Sr. in 1992, for outstanding students who participate in voluntary community service.

If you are ready for something new and different, ready to give something back to the international community while growing tremendously as an individual, then Lifeworks will provide an experience of a lifetime.
