Highlights:
The Republic of Ghana is unique in so many ways. It was the first African country to gain independence from colonial rule, and it remains an English speaking country surrounded by Francophile countries. The southern border is a stretch of beautiful coastline with gorgeous beaches. Each of its 10 regions offers a different experience from infamous slave castles and indigenous artists, to parks and the only canopy walk in Africa.
"Feel Free" is an expression you hear often. It means that you are free to be yourself and to explore what interests you. The people are known for their friendliness and hospitality, and Ghana has a democratic government that makes keeping visitors happy a top priority. The purpose of this trip is to promote a deeper level of cultural exchange and understanding through a combination of important volunteer work at local schools, social activities with Ghanaians, and both free and guided excursions in the neighborhood in which you will immerse.
It is an opportunity to live and work in an environment where you can exchange ideas and find universal connections. Experience the ultimate educational adventure, and join us on the exciting United Planet Quest to Ghana!

Some things may appear shocking and you might feel outside of your comfort zone in some situations. You might also experience disturbing poverty or suffering in certain areas. People, including the local population and fellow Quest participants, might have vastly different religious, ideological, racial, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. In short, you will be challenged and stimulated in ways that you may not be able to currently imagine.
