Description:
With the increase of business and trade sector in Ghana , the demand of English education is also on the rise. Although English is the official language of Ghana, the children are deprived of learning good English. As a teaching volunteer in Ghana , you will teach basic conversational English to the students of local, private, public or informal schools. You will be supported by the local teachers for lesson plans and teaching curriculum. Most of the schools in Ghana also provide a Teaching Guide to prepare for daily teachings. You can bring teaching materials that you think could be useful and helpful in the children's learning.
It is helpful for the volunteers to learn some Twi language, so our Ghana volunteer projects also tailors one week Language and Cultural Immersion Program to learn the basic language, and about Ghanaian culutre and lifestyle. The LAC runs in the week after your arrival and before the beginning of your volunteer commitment. The LAC includes excursions to local villages, markets and other areas of interest.
Highlights:
Enjoy the land filled with sun dappled beaches, beautiful landscape, and lush green vegetation on the West African shore.
Qualifications / Skills Needed:

Institute For Field Research Expeditions's Mission Statement: The mission of our volunteer abroad program is to offer meaningful volunteer abroad opportunities for volunteers and to seek sustainable solutions for education, health, conservation, and development issues through international volunteering. We hope to achieve this goal by offering community orientated volunteer programs where the efforts of our volunteers go directly to the poor people and their communities.
Many grass-root organizations working in developing countries are poor in resources. These organizations are doing a commendable job to address development, education, health, and conservation issues by launching a variety of programs but these organizations are in a great need of help and support. IFRE promotes these local organizations by making donations and sending volunteers.
