Description:
If you have a love for the outdoors and an interest in the environment, consider participating in the many conservation projects throughout Australia! This is a dynamic new way of connecting people with interests in protecting the world's environment to environmental projects. The projects vary throughout the year and focus on:
* Tree planting
* Seed collection
* Endangered species protection
* Weed control
* Fencing
* Walking trail construction
* Flora and fauna surveys
* Heritage restoration
* Environmental monitoring
You may be assisting with enhancing water quality and river bank habitat of the bushland's significant creek with tree planting activities. Or maybe erecting interpretive signs, track maintenance, fauna survey, historical buildings maintenance and improvement to facilities.
Interested in ship wrecks and dolphins frolicking in the waves? You may find yourself removing Bitou Bush and planting native species to reduce erosion and improve habitat. Or maybe you'll meet the Yellow-Snouted gecko (Diplodactylus occultus) which only occurs in the Northern Territory! The team will be installing pit-fall traps and then monitoring and performing night time spotlighting transects.
These programs are in urban, regional and remote locations.
