Description:
Get to know this fascinating West African country while gaining experience in your field and providing a valuable service to the community. The large public hospital serves the city of Abomey. There are many departments for volunteers to work in including physical therapy, emergency, maternity, pediatrics, general medicine, and surgery. Since the hospital is public, it serves many patients each day who come from near and far to receive medical attention.
Volunteers will be working closely with hospital staff to help with routine check-ups, special procedures, administrative duties, taking care of long-term patients. Volunteers are able to help in any area of the hospital they find most interesting.
Qualifications / Skills Needed:
Volunteers must have some experience or study in the health field. An intermediate level of French is required. French lessons are available prior to the volunteer project for an additional fee.
