Description:
Our internship program requires a minimum commitment of 6 weeks up to three months. Currently, our language courses range from 24 to 36 hours of instruction and the classroom size is no more than 12 students at a time -- it is our preference to keep the classes under 9 to insure adequate time and attention for each student. Our focus is to empower the citizens of the region, due to the influx of tourism, with knowledge and skills in order to better their lives. The LDC provides the language materials and suggested curriculums.
For commitments up to 3 months, we can provide the accommodations in a fully- equipped flat.
Highlights:
This internship is a perfect opportunity to live and work in a foreign country. To experience life within another country and culture is truly the element that weaves all people together to create a tapestry of peace and goodwill. Al Quseir is a charming town located on the spectacular coastline of the Red Sea. As a small town, one can still experience the traditions of a culture lost to many of the more modern cities. Interning here in Al Quseir is a winning experience for all.
Qualifications / Skills Needed:
The LDC is offering internship programs to language or linguistic teachers or students to teach the following languages: English, German, or Italian from elementary to advanced levels. We welcome any certified language teachers or those studying to earn a degree in language whether it is a major or minor concentration. Teaching ones native language is not necessary -- teaching your knowledge of a second or third language is permitted. For the English language, we prefer teachers proficient in the intermediate and advanced levels. Beginner and intermediate teachers are necessary for the Italian and German language courses. Not only the skill to teach the main elements of a language: speaking, reading, and writing -- at varying levels, we require the teacher to be adaptive to an environment that may be contrary to their own. We welcome University students to retired teachers.

Learning and Development Center of Al Quseir's Mission Statement: The Learning and Development Center (LDC) is an educational foundation dedicated to the community of Al Quseir and its environs. The primary goal was to involve the local community of Al Quseir in order to create job opportunities and provide various education and constructive communication skills. The three main areas of instruction include Information Communication Technology (ICT), Children and Special Needs (CSN), and Language instruction. The idea behind the LDC originated and grew from international investments who wanted to assist the citizens of Quseir to cope with the major social and economic challenges posed by the changing role of the city. Al Quseir has been rapidly burgeoning from a mining outpost into a tourist focal point in this remote region of the Red Sea.
