Description: The fifth largest country in the world, Brazil is conjoined by whitewashed, pristine beaches and filled with unspoiled habitats and traditional villages hidden among the many offshoots of the impressive Amazon River. Rustic Volunteer Travel's volunteer and travel in Brazil program offers volunteers the opportunity to explore many desirable locations throughout this beautiful country - including the former capital, Rio de Janeiro, the northeastern coastal city of Salvador as well as the changing colors and unpredictable environments and animals of the Amazon Rainforest, while working to aid the deprived in Guatemala through projects focused on teaching, orphanage help, health issues, and other community development programs. With untarnished shores outlining the country's coasts and spirited welcoming communities, Brazil is an ideal location for anyone wanting to experience "a vida boa" (the good life).

Volunteer and Travel in Brazil

Highlights: Projects are available in Rio de Janeiro (nicknamed A Cidade Maravilhosa - "The Marvelous City"). Heavily influenced by Portuguese culture, Brazil is renown for its spectacular natural setting, its Carnival celebrations, samba and other music, hotel-lined tourist beaches, paved with decorated black and cream swirl pattern mosaics. Most of its cities offer an urban mosaic and amenities you would expect from any city. Volunteers can organize different possible excursions during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a tourist infrastructure already in place the volunteer can use during weekends. For example: architecture, museums, city tours, water falls, Amazon rain forests, soccer, festivals, restaurants, art, music, hotels, and much more.
