Description:
Volunteer placements are provided at all levels kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. Class size is about 30 students in the mornings and about 15 in the afternoons. There are 3 English teachers; two of them work in the mornings and one works in the afternoons, they teach from basic level to intermediate level to kids from 6 to 18 years old. Normally each teacher works with one or two volunteers that work as their assistants the work for volunteers is mainly to help the teachers to prepare the class activities and to help to do these activities during the class. Depending on the volunteer's Spanish level there may be the opportunity to divide the class and get half of the students to another class (to work as a teacher) it would also depend of the volunteer's teaching experience and creativity. If the volunteers are not experienced teaching or if they don't feel confident enough they can work as class assistants.
Volunteers can also help with sports, Math, Biology, Music, Art, History, Dances, etc. as additional activities. Creative volunteers can also organize workshops and contests such as craft, painting, English clubs, etc.
